What we collect

Itinerary content and email address, submitted via our upload form, processed by Formspree and stored in our Supabase database. Usage and analytics data via PostHog — a first-visit analytics event is recorded before you make a cookie choice, using session-only storage with no persistent cookie (see "Cookies" below for what changes after your choice). Advertising measurement data via Meta Pixel and Google Ads, only after you accept cookies via our banner. When payment is required, it is collected via a secure card-payment link — your payment information stays with the payment provider and is never stored or seen by us.

Where your itinerary goes

Your itinerary is read by one human reviewer in Italy, matched to the region your trip covers. Your name and email address stay in our system and are not shared with the reviewer.

Retention

Itinerary submissions are kept for 90 days then deleted. Analytics data for 12 months. Payment information is never stored by us — held only by our payment provider, per their own retention policy.

Cookies and tracking

We use PostHog for analytics. A first-visit event is recorded in session storage before you choose — this is cleared when you close the tab and carries no persistent identifier. If you accept cookies, we switch to persistent storage to recognise repeat visits, and load Meta Pixel and Google Ads measurement tags. If you decline, we keep measuring your visit in session-only storage, but no persistent cookie is set and no advertising tag loads.

Your rights

EU/UK users may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing check@proof.travel. California users have rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale or sharing" of personal information. Because our advertising tags (Meta Pixel, Google Ads) may constitute "sharing" under CPRA, declining cookies via our banner opts you out of this sharing. To exercise any of these rights, email the same address.
